Plothow named to head North All Star squad


PLYMOUTH — Plymouth High School Head Baseball Coach Tony Plothow has been selected to coach the 2011 North All Star team at this year’s 37th Annual Indiana North-South All Star Game by his fellow coaches and the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Executive Council.

Plothow’s career record at PHS is 227-124. His teams have won five sectional titles, three regional titles and a semistate title in 2000 with two final four appearances. His teams have won four Northern Lakes Conference Championships, including one this season. Coach Plothow has been named NLC Coach of the Year four times and has twice been named District Coach of the Year.

This year’s Indiana North-South All-Star series will be played on July 9 and 10 in Fort Wayne at at Parkview Field at Indiana Tech University. The teams play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. They will also play a wooden bat game at noon on Sunday.
