PLYMOUTH - Rockie fans are ready for some football and just in time WTCA-AM 1050 will be holding an auction to raise money for the program.

Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the station will host a live auction to rais money for Rockie football. Last year the auction raised $6000 for football at Plymouth High School and this year's items will try to top that.

"We haven't really goal amount for this year," said Tonda Ellis one of the organizers of the event. "Obviously we hope we can exceed last year's total."

Money raised from the auction pays for meals for the team after away games and helps pay for the team's senior pre-season trip.

"We always want to be sure that everyone of the players gets something to eat after away games," said Ellis. "They find other expenses that have to be covered during the year too and its nice to help out all we can."

There are many big ticket items up for auction this year. Adams Remco has donated a Lexmark copier printer, Beef O'Brady's has contributed wings for a year and Coca-Cola has chipped in Coke for a year. Not to be outdone Pizza Hut has put up for auction pizza for a year.

There are many signed memorabilia items, a hot air balloon ride, a Cancun, Las Vegas or Carnival Cruise donated by Oliver Ford and tickets for a family day at Indiana Beach or Holiday World and Caverns from WTCA.

You will be able to bid on a Muhammad Ali autographed boxing glove, a Scott Skiles autographed basketball, all sports passes to Plymouth sporting events and front row parking at Rockie football and Pilgrim basketball games.

If you know that you will be bidding on items you can call WTCA at 574-936-4096 and receive a bid number. The day of the auction your time will be greatly increased by calling, giving your bid number and your bid.
